Lucy Zee graduated in 2009 with a degree in Directing and Writing. During her studies she was a feature writer for the student magazine and was nominated for best comedy writer at the 2007 Student Magazine Awards.
Since then she has worked freelance writing scripts used as teaching material for students (St. Cuthbert's College, Unitec), worked as a screen writer for Ample Films, done promotional scripts for overseas investors (The Metro Group), wrote a short play in Thomas Sainsbury's Monologues and many other local projects.
And like most writers, Lucy also has done the odd job to keep on top of things and to stay sane. Some examples are working on music video sets (P-Money, Milan Borich of Pluto, Farmer Pimp), a small role in TV3's new show 'Supercity' directed by Taika Waititi, PR and Marketing for 'Touch Wood play' starring Johnny B, wardrobe assisting, art department assistant and making coffees and unwrapping muesli bars for cameramen.
Her latest achievements have been her short film 'Run' in the Beijing Film Festival which was was invited to attend, and her latest documentary 'A Furry Tale' in the local Show Me Shorts film festival, which was nominated for 2 awards.
In Lucy's spare time she likes to stare at things until they turn into food.
